Snow Puppy

Remember when we brought this adorable puppy into our home? Well, he's over 65 pounds now, almost 2 years old and STILL acts like a crazy lunatic!!! But he sure is cute :) I have never had a dog drive me nuts more then Jackson. He makes me want to pull all my hair out and drink lots of vodka, but I love him so much. Such is the way of loving a dog, ha ha.

My kiddies are home due to snow (we've built like 5 snowmen!) so I must not blog long, just thought I'd share this adorable picture with you.

Anyone want a dog who pee's everywhere, eats chap stick, barks at trees, steps in his own poop and runs through the house, and drools on your feet while you sleep??
Hello?
No One?
Really?

OK, I'll keep him :)

When Animals Attack!!

One of our dogs has a fascination with my daughters Barbie dolls. We have done our best to keep them out of his reach, but then one day Barbie was held captive.

The puppy was left unattended in the back yard...

Then the attack happened...

He struck without warning...

Poor Barbie tried to escape...

Her plastic limbs were no match for his razor sharp puppy teeth...

When the dust had cleared Barbie was never the same...

All the witnesses at the scene where changed forever by the attack...

Rest In Peace Barbie...

What About A Doggie Day?!

I notice this "Caturday" nonsense all over the internet every Saturday. What about a Doggie Day? Maybe there is one and I just don't know about it. Or better yet, dogs get everyday and cats just get Saturday! I'm not sure how it all works. Either way I was in the mood for some cute dog pictures :)

And since I'm in charge here I have decided to showcase Jack Russell's and Boxers cause that's what I have, and I think they're the best, ha ha. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

(oh, did I forget to mention I'm a dog person?)

Spinning In Circles

What a week! First off let me thank you all for your sweet words of encouragement as I got back on track with my workout routine :) Oh and I apologize for all the people I scared with my last post, really, I had no idea you were all so... so... WIMPY! ha ha

*************

This week my munchkins stared school. It was bitter sweet. For the first time ever both my babies are in all day school. They both did great on their first day, I am so proud of them. One super cool thing about them both being in school now is MONDAYS! I know, I know... most people don't like Monday, but guess what? My hubby doesn't work that day so for the first time in who knows how many years we get to have a day together... Alone! We plan on making a weekly tradition to spend that day together doing something fun :)

*************

On a totally unrelated and slightly gross note. My cute little puppy, Jackson, has a disgusting new habit that I can not break him of. No matter what I do this whacked out dog keeps doing it! I need help people, any advice you have of making him STOP this behavior would be greatly appreciated. He has acquired a taste for the unusual. I can't get him to stop eating this no matter what I do! Prepare yourself, it isn't pretty...

Yeah, He's eating his own poop. I have no idea what is wrong with him. What's even worse is he loves to give kisses. OK, say it with me "EeeWwww" Needless to say, the munchkins have been washing their faces quite a bit these days.

*************

Now onto happier, less yucky topics. August 6th my sweet mini-munchkin turns 5! I love when my kids have a birthday, it gives me a reason to be all goofy and silly with them :) We will be having a simple little family night. She has picked out her birthday meal (Hot Dogs with Cheetos) and her presents are waiting to be ripped to shreds. Saturday we are going to the local Children's Museum to celebrate.

Wow, I no longer have little babies, I am shocked they really did grow up too fast. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I'm off to watch my DVR recordings of "Shark Week" yeah!!!

*Oh yeah also, if anyone has a good recommendation for reusable snack bags for my kids lunches please please let me know!!! I have looked on Etsy, but there are so many i have no clue which have been tried and true. Thanks all :)

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

That Darn Puppy, Ice Baths, & More

So I get home from my fabulous vacation and what do I find? A super sick puppy :(

Jackson has a very bad bacterial infection throughout his large intestines and colon. Guess how he got it? From being over stressed at the doggy kennel! I was shocked, and also felt terribly guilty. After all, I put him there so I could go on vacation! He is quickly getting
better and is enjoying all the medication (since I give it to him in bites of cheese, ha ha)

Everything is falling back into place, well everything except my workout routine. It is so hard to have a system that works then summer break comes and messes it all up. Throw in a few family vacations and BAM! You lose focus. I am determined to keep the weight loss going, I am half way to my goal. Still sitting pretty at 183. School will begin August 3rd and all will go back to normal.

Here's an interesting thing I've learned about summers in the desert. NO COLD WATER!! None, zip, nada...

Each night when I give the munchkins their baths I have to add ice cubes just so they can stand it! How crazy is this?? The cold water pipes are hot from being exposed to the warm temperatures so no cold comes out, meaning Scolding hot water no matter what. Yup, that's my mini-munchkin playing with Ice in the tub!

I hope you all are enjoying the sun and heat, if you need some let me know and I'll send some of ours your way :)

Dog Dayz...

My dogs are learning to adjust to the HOT weather. We had hot before we moved but it was south-eastern humid. Now we live in south-western dry, very different. Each dog has their own method of dealing with it, let's check it out!

Meet the characters: (oldest to youngest)

Louie LOVES splashing in his "puppy pool" and will actually play till he almost passes out! We have to dump the water out after awhile so he doesn't hyperventilate. He's such a weirdo.

Sammy, the strong silent type. He just wants a nice cool shady spot to nap. No frills, no tricks. Just concrete.

Jackson isn't sure what he likes yet. He enjoys checking out what the other dogs are doing and copy them. (as long as mommy is close by though)

Here they all are splashing around and keeping cool.

I wish my life was as simple as a dogs. *sigh* Maybe that's why we have 3, I'm secretly living vicariously through them, Ha Ha.

Lordy, Are We a Nutty Family!

What do you do when your hubby has changed jobs, you've moved across the country, had the kids change schools, then buy a new home, successfully turning everything in your life on its head?

You buy a new puppy to make it even nuttier around your house, Of course!

I introduce to you all Jackson (a.k.a. Jak-Jak, Jacky, Jax) our 8 week old Boxer.

He is such a sweetie!

Jackson meeting one of his big brothers, Louie.

So yeah, I have always had this habit of cramming all my stress into lumps. Do it all, get it done, and move one. This peeing, chewing puppy is proof of that :) I know when my mom reads this she's going to think I have lost my mind... But mom, when you come to visit in 2 weeks I dare you not to fall in love with this snugly little boy!

The pet count is as follows in our house: 3 dogs (1 Jack Russell, 2 Boxers) and 7 fish (don't ask me what kinds, no clue. I know they swim!)

Do you have any pets?

Poor Sammy-Dog

My poor puppy looks like a unicorn in a plastic cone :( Sammy the Boxer got a Hematoma in his ear.

(Hematoma or haematoma, is a collection of blood outside the blood vessels, generally the result of hemorrhage, or more specifically, internal bleeding.) Courtesy of Wikipedia

How did he get that you might ask? Well, it came from him shaking his head too much. Apparently flopping your ears around isn't good for a dog. He is recovering very well, it's the cone that is causing all the problems. My shins are so cut up and bruised from Sammy walking into me. His poor balance is all messed up. Then in the middle of the night I hear this "sssscccrrraaattttcchhhhhh" all the way down the hallway. It's Sammy walking to the water bowl in the dark scraping his cone all along the way on the wall.

He has enjoyed all the car rides since I am taking him EVERYWHERE with me. The Vet said the cone and bandage have to stay on for a week if there is any hope of his Hematoma to heal quickly and spare him any more pain and discomfort.

My other dog, Louie the Jack Russell, can't quite figure out what is going on around here. I can almost hear him saying:

"why is Sammy going in the car all the time?"
"what's with that stupid hat?"
"does he smell different?"
"can I lick the cone?"

Louie is going nuts trying to get all the answers. Well, there you go, here's what has been going on in my house for a few days. Doggy issues *ugh* But, I'd do anything for these crazy dogs and they know it!

Puppy Bowl V

This Super Bowl Sunday will you be watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet?

If you have never heard of this, check it out. I am not going to say it is great television, or amazingly entertaining... It really isn't, but it does make me laugh. And plus, who can't resist a bunch of adorable puppies running around playing and bouncing on a football field?

My mini muchkins thinks it's wonderful, she wished this once a year event could be on TV everyday. My older child however, keeps shouting "where's the REAL football? Come ON!"

Seriously, who comes up with this stuff? And don't even get me started on the Kitty half time show! Here is a clip from a few years back:
