Spinning In Circles

What a week! First off let me thank you all for your sweet words of encouragement as I got back on track with my workout routine :) Oh and I apologize for all the people I scared with my last post, really, I had no idea you were all so... so... WIMPY! ha ha

*************

This week my munchkins stared school. It was bitter sweet. For the first time ever both my babies are in all day school. They both did great on their first day, I am so proud of them. One super cool thing about them both being in school now is MONDAYS! I know, I know... most people don't like Monday, but guess what? My hubby doesn't work that day so for the first time in who knows how many years we get to have a day together... Alone! We plan on making a weekly tradition to spend that day together doing something fun :)

*************

On a totally unrelated and slightly gross note. My cute little puppy, Jackson, has a disgusting new habit that I can not break him of. No matter what I do this whacked out dog keeps doing it! I need help people, any advice you have of making him STOP this behavior would be greatly appreciated. He has acquired a taste for the unusual. I can't get him to stop eating this no matter what I do! Prepare yourself, it isn't pretty...

Yeah, He's eating his own poop. I have no idea what is wrong with him. What's even worse is he loves to give kisses. OK, say it with me "EeeWwww" Needless to say, the munchkins have been washing their faces quite a bit these days.

*************

Now onto happier, less yucky topics. August 6th my sweet mini-munchkin turns 5! I love when my kids have a birthday, it gives me a reason to be all goofy and silly with them :) We will be having a simple little family night. She has picked out her birthday meal (Hot Dogs with Cheetos) and her presents are waiting to be ripped to shreds. Saturday we are going to the local Children's Museum to celebrate.

Wow, I no longer have little babies, I am shocked they really did grow up too fast. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I'm off to watch my DVR recordings of "Shark Week" yeah!!!

*Oh yeah also, if anyone has a good recommendation for reusable snack bags for my kids lunches please please let me know!!! I have looked on Etsy, but there are so many i have no clue which have been tried and true. Thanks all :)

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

Neighborhood Kids Update

In my desperation to help the 2 kids mentioned in the previous post I left out some important information. Sorry guys, it's a little hard to ask for your advice when you don't know all the facts.

The girls are ages 8 and 10
The mom is gone because she works weird hours (at a bar)
I am under the impression that her other kids are supposed to watch these 2
The parenting style next door is very "let them raise themselves"

Thank you all for your wonderful advice, I greatly appreciate it and will let you know what I decide to do.

Sick Foods

My Munchkin isn't feeling well, I think he has a little chest cold. Poor guy :( We leave for California on Wednesday to visit family and I would hate for him to miss out on adventures with his cousins due to illness.

As a little girl, when I was sick my mom would always give me flat soda, toast (cut into triangles of course) and
chicken noodle soup. It always warmed me up and made me feel better. Even today whenever I have these items I smile and remember my mom taking care of me.

I have the soup all ready for my little man.
I hope my munchkins look back on these memories and smile as well. As a mom now, I understand why my mom did these things. It is heart breaking to watch your kids suffer, even the tiniest bit.

What did your mom or dad do for you when you were a sick child? Do you do the same things for your kids?

First Days & Sick Days

My poor little mini-munchkin is sick. Not just "kinda sick" No... seriously sick, maybe a trip to the hospital is in our future. She is miserable. I hate how helpless I feel. She has a stomach bug that won't go away. Poor dear can't keep anything down, not even water. Her little blood shot eyes are killing me :( Luckily she has only shared her virus with me, (i'm not near as sick as her. Can a mom really get a sick day anyway?) the munchkin and my hubby are still feeling fine. I hope they don't get this, that's all I need: A sick whiny husband and 2 barfing kids. FUN! Pray i keep my sanity if it reaches that level.

The house is coming together, finally! Once we haul all the empty boxes out of the dinning room this place should look great. Still haven't seen any scorpion or rattlesnakes. (THANK GOODNESS!) I am preparing myself though, if I see one and start screaming there will be no hope of the kids feeling comfortable here. Why do we women have to always be so strong??

On a happier note, the munchkin is currently at his first day of all day kindergarten. I am so proud of him, he showed no fear, no hesitation... Just marched on in there with his head up. I wish I had that kind of confidence all the time. It looks like he'll fit in just fine, and since he found out there are other boys in his class who love "Star Wars" he was happy.

The mini-munchkin and I just finished lunch, she actually kept the scrambled eggs down, so maybe there is hope for a recovery :) But, now she is napping, the house is clean, laundry is going, and I miss my little man. I thought I would enjoy the quiet, nope. It's too quiet without him running down the hallway yielding his Light Saber.

Also on the subject of "firsts." Today my hubby started his new job. He's called twice, which means he is bored and they don't have too much for him to do just yet. He never calls home unless there's nothing to do, so I hope for his workaholic self that he finds something to do. I, personally, LOVE days when I have nothing to do. But, then again... It never happens :)

OK I think I have jibber jabbered enough for now, hope i didn't bore you too much. And have a great week everyone!

Wordless Wednesday, Packing

Today my hubby & I have been in full gear. We finished emptying the attic for our move. This is how my sons room looks now... Poor kid. Don't worry, we aren't making him sleep in here on top of all the boxes :)

Bad Timing For Snot

My mom and I had a fabulous time at Earthling Day Spa on Saturday. The ambiance was so relaxing, although it still didn't completely relax me since I have about 500 million thoughts swirling around in my head at any given time. I did TRY to feel the relaxing vibe, they do a wonderful job there. I guess I am just way too anxious to ever fully succumb to relaxation.

I do have a funny story while attempting to relax though!

While the sweet masseuse made my body feel like jello, I started getting a twinge in my nose. She asked me to flip on my belly and put my hands on the small of my back. She then proceeded to massage my arms. Well, when do you suppose my nose started to run? Imagine snot running down your face and no way to do anything about it. Obviously I was not relaxing, i was freaking out! Talk about bad timing.

Summer Colds *Sniff*

*Cough, Hack, Snort*

I am sick, not sure how I got sick. The only person I know who is feeling very under the weather is my best friend Amber. She lives 3000 miles away. Can you catch a cold over the telephone? I didn't think so.

Lucky for me, for once in my life I am ahead of the laundry, dishes, and house cleaning. And I have no where to go, no chores to run out and do, I don't have to take the kids to any activities. Somebody must be looking out for me, because even when I'm 100% healthy I don't get so lucky.

So my schedule for the next few days is to stay in my Pajama pants all day long, sip warm tea, and DO NOTHING!

I hope you are all doing well and don't get this yucky summer time cold that never goes away.
