Future Guilt

It is way to early in the morning for me to be awake, let alone typing on here. Yet, here I am with my head full of thoughts that just won't stop. I have felt so guilty recently about my parenting. I'm not perfect, far from it. but I wonder... what will my kids remember about me when they're older?

Mommy sat at her computer too much.
She couldn't cook at all!
We were always running late for school.
She yelled too much.
There were days our dirty clothes pile filled our rooms!
She stressed about money.
Mom could lose her cool in an instant.
She would torture us with her bad singing everywhere in the car!
Mommy was too hard on me.

All those moments as a mom I work hard everyday to avoid, will those be the things they remember most? Will they look back and smile? Am I doing OK? I know most people will say "Oh honey, they won't think of those bad things! They will remember that you loved them, that you took them to cool places, the weekends shopping at the farmers market, the times spent on the trampoline. They will think of you when they see a classic Ford Mustang, when they burn dinner it will make them laugh thinking of the many meals you tried to cook, they will know that you did your best!"

Really?

I'm not so sure...

I think I lose my temper with them too much. I wish I would think before I opened my mouth. I should really duct tape my mouth closed.

I wish I woke up bright and early every day to make them a hot breakfast before school, I wish the house was always sparkley and clean with the clothes put away perfect. That's just not in the cards.

I wonder if my mom ever felt the same way, because I sure think she did an amazing job! I remember her yummy cooking, how the house was always tidy, she always smiled at everything I did and took the time to pay attention to me. We traveled the world, and she taught me a lot about life. I don't remember bad things. Did they happen and kids just don't retain all that if the good outweighs the negative? Boy I hope so. 99% of the time it's all good around our house.

I hope they turn out alright. I really am trying to do my best!

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

Housework, Sick Kids, FATNESS & Cute Clothes

I have been a busy little bee around our house this week. Our gorgeous wool rugs were finally delivered and I could start putting the final touches on my front room and living room. Pictures coming next week! With all the picture hanging, furniture moving and decorating going on the rest of the house started to look like crapola, so today I am working on all the everyday cleaning (laundry, dishes, cleaning up, etc.) Where is that fancy cleaning robot from "The Jetson's" when you need her. Oh Rosie... I wish you lived in my closet!!!

**********

The weight loss front in still going strong, I have dropped 20.6 pounds! Although, I am sad to say I am STILL the same pants size. Darn my Norwegian hips that never seem to shrink *grrrrr* Bet you can't guess where the weight loss has happened the most? Yup, you got it... my boobs :(

**********

My mini-munchkin is sick, she has strep throat. Poor thing has been laying around on the couch for 2 days. You'd think I'd enjoy this quarentine at home since I am ALWAYS running around doing things. Nope, this quiet at home all day stuff has me stir crazy. I haven't been to the gym in 3 days, and I am starting to have full on conversations with the dogs. "Well hello Louie, isn't it a pretty day? Wanna help mama fold laundry? You do? Wonderful! Come over here and you can sit on the bed and watch!"

Yeah... I am losing it.

My hubby and I have decided to get on a strict budget (i'm talking Alpo for dinner people!) in an attempt to be 100% debt free and self sufficiant. So due to this change in our finances I went out and bought a new Harley Davidson tank top and a cute little hat to match! What?! If my hubby's gonna ride one I have to look cute standing by it right?

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Tackle It Tuesdays 10/7

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I think I am having blogger withdrawals! The internet is down so I am typing this in Microsoft Word to copy and paste hopefully later tonight. We are having new flooring installed in the office/playroom and kitchen, hence why my precious internet is unavailable.

It looked like a three ring circus around here this morning. First, the flooring guys actually showed up early! Have you ever had a contractor show up on time, let alone early? Neither have I, and I was NOT prepared. I had just jumped out of the shower, the kids were getting up for another fun filled day of school, and my hubby was sleeping.

I ran to the door to let them in and the chaos began

My hubby quickly jumped out of bed to clear out all the furniture from the rooms about to be torn apart and greet the strangers in our home. My son was wondering around in his underpants wanting to know if he could help, my daughter was standing in the middle of the room, in the way of all foot traffic coming in and going out as the contractors came in with all their stuff. Add to this my lovely LOUD barking dogs that HATE strangers in their home and you have CHAOS!!

It was like pulling teeth to get my munchkins to leave those guys alone. Why are kids so mesmerized by contractors? I guess there’s something about big dudes with loud tools.

They have been here since 7:00 AM, working nonstop. WOW, way to go hard working floor guys, I salute you. My head on the other had isn’t that thrilled with the constant banging and hammering for 9 hours straight.

I am so bored, can’t go anywhere, and I can’t do anything. My “Tackle It Tuesday” for this week is supervising my floor men finish a job for me!

I think I'll go paint the outside storage shed. That needs to get done and it'll kill some time while the guys work on the floor.

Tackle It Tuesdays 9/23

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Today I am going to kick booty and get my house in ship shape...
(I swear, i mean it it this time!) click picture above for details.

How about it girls? Want to prove to our husbands that blogging can actually clean our homes? Consider us accountability partners. Every Tuesday I will post projects I have completed. Look, I'll give you proof that I am actually doing things other then playing on my pretty pink laptop.

Today, I started with the kitchen. Dishes, mopping, clearing the crap from counter tops, you know... the usual kitchen to-do list.

Before and After shots of my kitchen sink area

Well that was an easy one, next I needed to move that mountain of laundry from my master bedroom floor. (I was very scared what I might find in there) And by the way, I didn't "move" it I washed it :)

I hope you all have a fun and productive day, thanks for keeping me on track!
