Married Life, 10 Years Later

I can not believe that in one month it will be 10 years since I married my husband. Technically we've been together 12 years, but 10 as husband and wife. why do we never get to count those years? I loved those first two!

2002

We have both changed so much since that wonderful day in August 2002. We're a little wider in the waist, and thicker in the head.

We've had our share of tough times, and many many happy times.

2007

And wow, the things we have learned! How to be good parents, how to live for someone other then yourself, how to persevere, and how to love. How to not hurt him when he's a pain in the butt.

I love the friendship we now have. In recent years we have grown to such a comfortable/easy place. And we have a blast together! He can make me laugh so hard my belly hurts.

2012

I can not imagine what the next 10 years might bring, if it's anything like the first 10 then hang on because this is going to be a wild ride. Seriously, hang on. He takes corners in his pickup like we're on a nascar track.

I "Live" you honey ;)

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

30 Days About Me (10 Years Ago & Now)

Today's prompt is a picture of you 10 years ago and a picture of you today. This is perfect because it is almost my wedding anniversary (August 17) and even though it was 9 years ago, I am going to use this anyway :) I'm sure no one will mind.

And here we are a decade later, still going strong. This man can drive me crazy like no other, and yet he can love me like no other in that same instant.

Wow, it really doesn't seem like that long. All the changes that have taken place, all the things that have stayed the same. One last treat, me in High School(junior year I think) AHHH SCARY!

It was nice reflecting today. Now I feel old!

So Long, Miss you

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

2010 what a year you have been. One of the most joyful & challenging years I've had in a long time. Thanks for the
memories:

~~*~~

Becoming a closer family
Him riding his "big boy bike"
Sledding in the snow in our backyard
Charleston with my best friend
Seeing my dad drum at church
Homemade ice cream at the local farm
Knowing he loves me more than life itself
S'mores with Chip N Dale
Visits from the tooth fairy
Dog mischief
Healing ears, noses, throats, ankles and hearts
Holding butterflies in my hand
Watching her spin in her Tutu
My son laughing while inner tubing on the lake
Derby car races
Enjoying handfuls of blueberries grown in our own garden
Tackle football while I held my breath after every hike
Snow angels
Praying for my mom
My daughter's scared face just before surgery (both times)
Hot tea on cool days
Snuggling in bed with my babies
Friends...
Selling chocolate for school fundraiser
Eating chocolate for school fundraiser
All the blooming flowers
Both of them making me smile every day
Him laughing at my jokes
My mom building homes in Haiti
Him finally catching that baseball
Dancing in the rain
Glasses of wine with the ladies
Learning about everything
Honor rolls, awards, trophies
When she finally swam on her own
Embracing my heavenly Fathers direction for my life
Wonderful birthdays
Watching them hug, and mean it
Standing on the beach in awe of the bigness
The kids riding a mechanical bull
Cheering on Clemson in the stadium
Seeing how fragile life really is
Singing children
Holding his hand in the ER
Being in the parade
Making music
Her dressed as a chocolate chip cookie
Quiet time reading
Being chased by power wheels
Glimpses of their imagination
Watching her color for hours
Hearing my grandmas voice on the phone
Crying from frustration
Crying from laughter
Feeling the Love

Good Bye 2010. When the new year rings in, I will be a little sad. You've been a good one, a really good one...

What is something you will miss about this year? Or what are you looking forward to in the new year?

Who Woulda Thunk It?

Happy Anniversary Sweetie!
I love you so much

"Bless The Broken Road"
by: rascal flatts

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road

That led me straight to you

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

I Can Be A Foodie Too! (well, kinda)

I love reading about my blogging buddies yummy culinary creations! I wish scrumptious aromas often filled the air in my own kitchen. Well, I've decided to do something about it. I too can document my fabulous food concoctions!

Today's assistant will be my lovely daughter
.

The delicatessen of choice? Box cupcakes, yum :)

Step 1: Turn box over and read the back, collect ingredients.
(after you chug a glass of wine)

Step 2: Pick out your cupcake cups.
(this will eliminate any unnecessary cleanup)

Step 3: Put cups into pan, arrange in a colorful pattern, a MUST!
(in my experience it makes the cupcakes taste better, i swear)

Step 4: Put packaged mix, eggs, water, and oil into large bowl.
(if you spill the powder as it comes out of the bag just scoop it off the floor and add to bowl, no one will know!)

Step 5: Make the hired help do the mixin'.
(watch her though, she can be a real messy cook)

Step 6: Time for a taste test!
(nothin' like some raw egg goodness!)

Step 7: Does it taste good? if it doesn't then abort immediately.
(OR finish the yucky cupcakes and give to a friend!)

Step 8: If it does taste good, then lick the mixer beaters!
(am I the only one who's tongue can't reach the center pole?)

Step 9: Admire your handy mixing skills, and thank the help.
(meaning bribe her with candy so she'll leave and quit eating it)

Step 10: Pour mix into cups, stick in oven.
*be sure to turn the oven on... VERY important.
(note the beautifully clean oven? the advantages of being a bad cook!)

Step 11: Banish the mixer the the "chamber of never used appliances."
(kind of like the "Island of Misfit Toys" without the island, or the misfit toys)

Step 12: Take out of oven and place on a plate to cool.
(be sure to keep out of reach of dogs. They like cupcakes on the counter... apparently.)

Steps 13 - 15 are not available due to next batch being left in too long, smoke detector going off and hands being burned trying to remove said burned cupcakes from the oven without pot holder. *ouch* No children or animals were harmed in the making of this post.

Good luck and happy baking!

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...
