My Parents Kick Butt

This past Saturday, September 12th, many people across our great nation stood together on Capital Hill, my parents were there!

From my mom: "Most of what you've heard on "mainstream media" is incorrect, as usual. Tons more people were there then they say - over a million......absolutely nothing to do with "racism", everything to do with out-of-control spending in Washington that is bankrupting this country & worry over our liberty and freedom of choice with an administration that believes we are too stupid to take care of ourselves. And the thinking that the government needs to "control" more of our life. NO WAY!

All the people there were so polite and average All-Americans, not these radical crazy people the news is reporting. Wow, what an eye opener of just how "left" and government run the media has become. WE WERE THERE!!!! We saw it first hand!"

(there's my mama!)

Many gathered in Washington for a massive rally organized by conservatives claiming that President Obama is driving America towards socialism. The size of the crowd shocked the White House.

Demonstrators massed outside Capital Hill after marching down Pennsylvania Avenue waving placards and chanting 'Enough, enough' waving U.S. flags and holding signs reading 'Go Green, Recycle Congress' and 'I'm not your ATM.'

The focus of much of the rally was the president's so-called 'Obamacare' plan to overhaul the U.S. health system.

(look it's like that scene from "Forrest Gump"!)

Thanks mom and dad for standing up for what you believe in and for helping my children have a brighter tomorrow :)

I know many people will disagree with what you guys did in Washington, but I don't care. I am just proud to be the daughter of parents that don't back down and have taught me the value of freedom. I love you so much.

I So wish I could have been there. It was a fantastic showing.
I posted a video on my blog where they said it was closer to 2 million which is awesome - truly amazing.
Your parents definately Rock!!
I personally thank them for being there. The way I figure it everyone who actually stood in DC that day represented 5 or more of us who could not be there! Yahoo!!

Thank you to your parents who were able to support our freedom like that. I am amazed at how much the media lies about the news.

That's awesome that your parents went! Good for them. If I had known what day they were doing it I too would have been there. Kids and in tow and all.

Lizzie -- this is great! I went to a town hall last month (couldn't get in; there were too many of us), but it was so good to see many out there standing up for what they believe in. And you know, I didn't see any 'racists'...hmm, isn't that what the mainstream media keep telling us?

Glad to know that there are a lot of down to earth - honest people wanting to support our country and makes me wonder just how many other times the "government" has lied!! :}

I admire it when people stand up for what they believe in - whether it is what I believe in or not. Our country needs more people like your parents.

Wonderful that they had the chance to take part in standing up for their beliefs...I wish more people would take such physical or verbal action!

As you know, I do disagree strongly with a lot of what is posted here, but I won't go on and on about it. I would however like to ask your parents if they've considered protesting against the local (government run) police and fire department? We DO get a say in most of these things, by voting! And we WILL get a say in government run health care as well. Are they aware of the millions of people (children included who can't get health care in this amazing and free country? Do they have any alternative propositions to help those people?

Again, I think it is great that they are standing so strongly with their beliefs, no matter if I disagree- that right there is what makes this country so amazing and teaches our children that they too, will one dayhave that same power as citizens of the U.S. Good for them!

Hope you are well Liz!
