Disney World Featuring The Magic Kingdom

On to our next installment of all things Mickey...

The most famous (and my favorite) of all the parks is The Magic Kingdom. I could easily spend the entire week at this 1 park. If you have ever been to Disneyland this is very similar. A lot of the same rides are shared between the two, the main difference is that MK is bigger and more spread out.

It was a scorching 5 million degrees Fahrenheit on the day we went. Thank goodness for breathable clothing and frozen water bottles!!

Favorite things breakdown:
*my son: Buzz Lightyear, Splash Mountain & Pirates of the Caribbean
*my daughter: It's a Small World, Dumbo, Peter Pan's Flight & Goofy's Barnstormer
*my mom: The enchanted Tiki Room, It's a Small World & whatever the grandkids liked
*my hubby & dad: every ride that made the kids happy
*me: Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Mickey's Philharmagic & The Tea Cups

We took a break mid-day to cool off and take a short rest back at our cabin. Armed with some new "get up and go" we were able to stay and enjoy the park till late in the evening. I am also shocked and pleased to report that both kids were happy without 1 hissy fit ALL DAY! Wow, Walt Disney sure is a magical guy ;)

We've done MK quite a few times over the years and here's what I've discovered about crowds:
* Halloween is an amazing time of year to go. Trick or Treating with your favorite Disney characters is just so cool! And there are hardly any people, you get the park pretty much to yourself.
* Christmas and Thanksgiving are decorated to the max! The crowds are moderate, but nothing too crammed to enjoy yourself.
* Mid-June is HOT!!!! The crowds are big, but they were not near as bad as I expected.

We hope to try February/early spring next time around. Hope you've enjoyed your little tour of the Magic Kingdom :)

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

Museum Collages, Too Much Fun!

The Children's Museum of Phoenix.
"Crazy Camera Lady" came along, I took a million pictures.
We all had a fabulous time playing together.
Click for larger collages, Enjoy!

The ceiling was decorated with thousands of paper origami crane's.
The kids loved catching the scarves that fell from the sky.
Huge crawl through tubes made everyone giggle.
Daddy even played with some of the "air experiments."

At the art studio the munchkins created painted bugs.
The tricycle obstacle course was a big hit by all.
My girl created her own flower garden.

We learned about gravity!

Time for some grocery shopping at the market.
Fish made from recycled laundry bottles hung on the walls.
We loved running through the Noodle Forest!
The kids were our chefs at the kiddie cafe.

My favorite part of the day.
A quiet nook perfect for a good book.
Tired kids enjoyed snuggling with mama.
A perfect end to a perfect day!

au revoir, adieu, ciao, till next time...

You're Gonna Miss This... Moment, Playtime at Home

I am going to miss the sound of my kids giggling and enjoying themselves with friends under my roof. There will come a time when hanging out at home won't be cool. Sword fighting and my little ponies will be a thing of the past. This is a moment I love and don't ever want o give up.

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and everything nice,
That's what little girls are made of.

We Had Fun

Yesterday the Munchkins and I walked up to the "town square" in our little subdivision. We sat on the grass and enjoyed the warm spring weather, and the kids played in the water fountain. It was so nice and relaxing. Just what I needed, a little sun and some cute little munchkins running around laughing. Sorry the picture quality is so bad... cellphone camera.

can you guess which 2 are mine?

We are trying to have as much fun as we can in this beautiful weather before the HOT summer hits. I can tell it's coming, any day now *eek!* I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Saturday Q-Shot: Eyes

I am so excited about this new Meme that my good friend Melissa is doing over at Spoiled Mommy. Each week she will ask a question that you need to answer with a photo. Sounds like fun!

This weeks question is "What is the color of your eyes?"

click photo for a large (prettier) version.

I answered this question with the color of my husbands eyes. He has greenish-gold eyes, and depending on the sunlight you can see hints of light blue. Every color in this picture I can see when he looks at me. This picture was taken while on a hay ride in South Carolina, I got so lucky that it came out so well :)

My Daughter Is A Creepy Person!

Ever wonder what happens when you let your daughter play with your photo editing program? Well, the mini-munchkin has been driving me up the wall to "make a picture pretty!" so this afternoon I gave in, prepare yourself people, it gets a little weird...

It all started so simply, what a cute shot of my munchkins
enjoying a morning on our recent trip to South California.
I love these two!

Where the heck does she come up with this stuff? Have I done something wrong? Should I be worried, I am a little. *sigh* OK, on the positive, she did a job great! Maybe she'll be like her ol' mom and go to college for computer animation, I'd be so proud :)

Have a super awesome wonderful weekend everybody!

Planning My Escape

I can't take it anymore! My hubby is away on business north of sunny San Diego. As much as I love living in Arizona, I want to go play at the beach!! So I am plotting, scheming, planning how to get out there tonight or tomorrow morning. So I am scrubbing floors and washing all the clothes to get all that needs to get done completed, then I can start doing what I want. The hubby knows we are planning to come out this weekend, I just want more time out there. Don't worry, my laptop will be coming along (DUH!) and blogging will continue. 6 hours one way with munchkins in the car *aaAahhHHHhh* Wish me luck!

From White to Orange

When we first moved out here we signed the munchkins up for Martial Arts to meet friends and help them feel more confident in a new environment. It has absolutely helped them both during this big transition in their lives. This week they both graduated from white belts to orange/white belts. Way to go Munchkins!!

Lunch Anyone?

This morning my mini-munchkin was playing in her pretend kitchen. She asked me if I was hungry and did I want her to bake me some lunch. Well, of course I said yes as any good mommy would have. She started to clank away, working on my meal. A few minutes later I was presented with my meal:

Whole baby piglet with a tomato garnish

Oh my... what do I make of this? Should I be concerned? I laughed so hard, luckily she laughed right along with me.

"What mama? you think food is funny?" Yes baby girl, I certainly do :)

Tree House

Yesterday while driving around the neighborhood we want to buy a house in I saw something shining in the trees. It was quite curious, so I pulled the car over and the kids and I went to investigate what was in there. Up a little path, through the brush and we found this!

A super fun tree house. The kids were so excited, so was I! Who built this? Why is it still hear? The munchkins played till they were ready to pass out. It was so funny, right there in the middle of the desert, a tree house. We for sure will be coming back to this gem in the sand.

Did you have a tree house, or a fort as a kid? I used to love tying ropes from limbs and making tree forts like Tarzan when I was young. I loved climbing trees, nothing was more fun then reaching the top!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, I am off to do more house hunting... The never ending journey to find the "right" place.
